Cascade is a small tempera painting—just 2 by 3 inches, matted to 3 by 4—that grew out of a moment when I was working through artist’s block. Rather than following a strict plan, I let the colors and shapes lead me, focusing on movement and the interplay between a vertical green form and swirling blues and whites. The layering creates depth and energy within a compact space, framed simply to bring that subtle flow into focus. It’s a reminder that even the smallest gestures can hold a quiet intensity when given space to unfold.
