Crest is a 4 by 4 x 1 1/2 deep oil painting on wrapped canvas that captures the energy of a wave curling over the North Shore of Maui. I worked with bold, textured brushstrokes to convey the movement and force of the water, layering blues and whites to reflect the sea’s shift between calm and power. The deep blue background sets the wave forward, emphasizing its fluid form and the white foam at its crest. This piece is my way of exploring the natural rhythm and strength found in the ocean—a subject that continues to inspire me with its constant motion and presence.
