Butte at Sunset is an 8 by 10-inch print on aluminum that reflects my impression of Thumb Butte, a landmark overlooking Prescott, AZ. The composition brings together warm reds, ochres, and yellows at the center, moving outward into darker, earthier tones on one side and cooler blues and greens on the other. The brushwork is expressive and textured, conveying movement and depth without relying on recognizable forms. This piece marks a new step for me in letting go of details to capture the feeling of the place through color and energy rather than representation.
